Miss Harbor Cities 2016

In life, you must do what sets your soul on fire; for me, that passion comes from the Miss America Organization. On Saturday, March 12, 2016 I was crowned Miss Harbor Cities 2016 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. This opportunity provides me with another avenue to positively impact my community while spreading my message about my new platform, “Let’s Talk: Skill Sets 4 Success.”

The day I was crowned Miss Harbor Cities began with a morning of hope, reflection, and contentment. After competing the previous weekend for the Miss Wisconsin Central title and not winning, I took some time to relax, think about why I love the Miss America Organization and what it stands for, and most importantly what my future goals were. I made a point to express to the judges why I care so deeply about this program and why I was the right candidate for the job and it worked. The moment my name was called, I was in shock and completely consumed with joy; this is an incredible opportunity that I am extremely grateful for. Thank you to the judging panel for seeing my true passion, determination, and outlook and for believing in me. Thank you to my family for continually sticking by my side as I chase after my dreams, I wouldn’t be in this position without you.

With only three months until the state pageant, I hit the ground running with platform planning, appearances, and Miss Wisconsin preparations.  Luckily, at the time I was crowned, I was still working weekends at my full-time job.  With that being said, I had Tuesdays and Wednesdays off-allowing me some weekday flexibility to travel, speak to students, and spread my platform message about college and career readiness.  I visited my own elementary school, Woodside in Wisconsin Rapids a couple of times to speak to classes and a school-wide assembly, as well as Howe Elementary School in Wisconsin Rapids.  I also organized a day full of school appearances in Manitowoc, presenting to elementary and high school students.  (a full, running list of appearances can be found at the bottom of this page).
