Ready for all the fall goodness wrapped up into one biscuit? I’m not sure you are…
This easy, at-home recipe popped up on my Facebook page and rather than just watching it though, clicking like, and moving on with my day (and consequently forgetting about it) I decided to try it out! I’ll take you through the step by step process for you to make them too, here we go!
Things you’ll need:
- Apples and a knife
- Brown sugar
- Small caramels used for baking
- Grands Pillsbury Biscuits
- Powdered Sugar (optional)
- Heavy whipping cream (optional)
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then, dice up the apples and pour them into a pan on the stove top, mixing in butter, brown sugar and cinnamon until pieces are a golden brown color.Next, you’ll want to open up the Pillsbury biscuits and lay them out on a plate, baking sheet, or clean counter space. Stretch each of the biscuits around the edges, pulling ever so slightly to make a bigger surface to place the caramel and apples on. // Note, the original recipe called for plain Pillsbury biscuits, but when I came across the Honey Butter ones in the store I figured I would give them a try for extra sweetness! From there, unwrap and place one caramel in the center of each biscuit, placing the cooking apple pieces on top. Next, slowly pinch up the sides of the biscuit, enclosing the contents fully and then flip them over in a round glass pan or tin pan so they stay in place for baking.
Cook Caramel Apple Bombs at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
While they’re in the oven, you can whip up some powdered sugar with heavy whipping cream to create a frosting glaze to drizzle on the top (optional, but delicious)!
